Always Learning
What a better way to spend my “free time” then to keep up with my education! The beauty industry is constantly changing from season to season, and I fully believe in keeping up with the latest trends! It’s impossible to grow and be successful by simply attending the school of cosmetology once and never learning anything past that. Not to mention, when you’re as passionate as I am, its hard to stay away from education! I love learning about hair and beauty!
Since I have left my job, of course I have been busy traveling to your homes, keeping up with the hair needs you guys have, but I have been also filling my time with classes! I have taken 3 classes in Union taught by Brian & Tracy Smith Grieves [Accedemia], and about 3 online webinars through Behind The Chair. The hands on classes in Union were great, I learned a bunch of new cutting techniques with both the razor and scissor as well as some cool coloring techniques! The webinars were incredible as well, two of them were business oriented that both my husband and I were able to attend together, and the other one was a color class taught by celebrity stylist, Kim Vo!
Back in April my husband and I attended the International Beauty Show in NYC. It is the biggest trade show of the year! All the big name brands were there, with booths, stages and models set up and showing us all the latest products and trends of 2012! It’s always an incredible experience!
In two weeks I will be in NYC again training hands on with celebrity stylist, Nick Arrojo. You may know him from the TLC show, “What not to wear”, but I know him as the best man in the industry who works with his razor! I am honored to spend two whole days working with him, he is a true inspiration in our industry!
Hoping to keep up all the training throughout the summer, loving the opportunities that are coming my way, can’t believe how tremendously blessed I am! I am looking forward to trying these sweet techniques on anyone who is ready for change!
