Yesterday marked one month of CUT artisan. hair. design. being officially open. We are grateful for each and every one of you who have supported, helped and encouraged us along the way.
As I (Peach) reflect on this milestone for CUT, I wouldn’t be completely truthful if I said “This is what I expected.” Throughout this month, I have come to a simple revelation that “Hair just grows back, people do not.” As I return back to all the amazing stories I have heard, from clients and people, this helps reinforce that at CUT we will always stop and invest in conversation with anyone that walks through our door. For us, this is just as important as the services we provide.
So, we look forward to seeing, serving, investing, conversing, and Loving you.

Well this is awesome, I am currently sitting in a black chair in the middle of “Cut” as my husband, Peach, [whom you’ll meet at some point very soon] finishes the painting in here! The hair studio is coming along quite nice if you ask me! Its becoming more and more real with each passing day. Every time we get something new shipped to us in the mail, its as exciting as Christmas morning! All that’s left to wait for are the permits from the town which should be coming super soon! After that we can bring in our contractors to install lighting and hook up the sinks! We also have to wait for the state to inspect us, but that should be pretty easy!
I enjoy doing all the little details such as chap stick with our logo on it, bags, pens etc. Because it’s always cool to get those things as a customer – or at least I think so!! Oh and picking out what music I can buy to play in here, that’s what makes my heart beat fast! haha.. So that’s how I have been spending my free time, doing all the small things!
We are also working toward doing a photo shoot sometime in Sept. for more photos on the website in my portfolio! That is really exciting to me because I will be coloring, cutting and styling everyone’s hair in the shoot – and real people too, not professional models. I also get to spend a whole day with one of my best friends who lives in the city as a professional wedding photographer, she’s just brilliant. cmostr.com if you want to check out some of her work! It should be fun. I will certainly post photos of the shoot when we get to that point.
That’s all the updating I can do at this point, but keep checking back for more blog posts, soon video blogs and hair tutorials as well as photos updates! 🙂
What a better way to spend my “free time” then to keep up with my education! The beauty industry is constantly changing from season to season, and I fully believe in keeping up with the latest trends! It’s impossible to grow and be successful by simply attending the school of cosmetology once and never learning anything past that. Not to mention, when you’re as passionate as I am, its hard to stay away from education! I love learning about hair and beauty!
Since I have left my job, of course I have been busy traveling to your homes, keeping up with the hair needs you guys have, but I have been also filling my time with classes! I have taken 3 classes in Union taught by Brian & Tracy Smith Grieves [Accedemia], and about 3 online webinars through Behind The Chair. The hands on classes in Union were great, I learned a bunch of new cutting techniques with both the razor and scissor as well as some cool coloring techniques! The webinars were incredible as well, two of them were business oriented that both my husband and I were able to attend together, and the other one was a color class taught by celebrity stylist, Kim Vo!
Back in April my husband and I attended the International Beauty Show in NYC. It is the biggest trade show of the year! All the big name brands were there, with booths, stages and models set up and showing us all the latest products and trends of 2012! It’s always an incredible experience!
In two weeks I will be in NYC again training hands on with celebrity stylist, Nick Arrojo. You may know him from the TLC show, “What not to wear”, but I know him as the best man in the industry who works with his razor! I am honored to spend two whole days working with him, he is a true inspiration in our industry!
Hoping to keep up all the training throughout the summer, loving the opportunities that are coming my way, can’t believe how tremendously blessed I am! I am looking forward to trying these sweet techniques on anyone who is ready for change!
So, thank you all for taking the time to visit our new website and check out this blog spot! I am thrilled to even have the opportunity to blog like this to keep you guys updated on what is new with Cut Hair Studio!
We think we may have found the perfect spot to open the studio right in the heart of Flemington! My husband is still working through the negotiation of the lease, but it is looking pretty promising! We are both really stoked on the way things are coming along in the meantime though! All of our furniture is being custom made as I type this, by some talented friends of ours! Everything else such as business cards, menus, etc. we’re ready to pull the trigger on too as soon as this lease gets signed and we have a set address!
I really want to thank ALL of you for your loyalty to me during this career transition and just the patience you’ve had with me too!! I know it isn’t the most ideal situation to not get the whole experience of being in a hair studio, but I promise it will be made up for when we open our doors!
Seriously, the second we find out anything about us moving forward, you’ll be the first to know! This is such a huge blessing to be able to live out our dreams of opening a hair studio and provide these services for you! I can hardly believe that we are able to do this at our age, but we know it’s right and it seems to be the perfect timing. So, keep checking back for updates and I promise they’ll hit this blog as well as the facebook page as soon as possible!
Love you guys!
